• WTF Poomsae Competition Rules currently in force.
  
  

• Holder of Nationality of participating Team
• Recommended by National Taekwondo Association
• Holder of Kukkiwon Poom or Dan Certificate
  (A copy of the Poom/Dan Certificate should be enclosed with the entry form)

• Preliminaries
  After performing two (2) of the four (4) 1st Compulsory Poomsae predetermined by the WTF, the top 50% of participants will qualify for the next round according to the average score of their 2 (two) performances.
• Semi-Final
  The top 50% of participants would be required to perform two (2) of the four (4) 2nd Compulsory Poomsae predetermined by the WTF. The top eight (8) athletes of each category (individual and pair) will be selected and advance to the final according to the average score of their performances.
• Final
  The top eight (8) athletes of each category would be required to perform two (2) 2nd Compulsory Poomsae. The ranking of the top four (4) athletes of each category will be decided by the average score of the two performances.

Exceptions:
In the case that there are 8 or less individuals / teams per division, they will automatically qualify for the final without preliminaries and semi-final. 2) In the case there are 20 or less individuals or teams per division, they will automatically qualify for semi-final without preliminaries. Accordingly, top 8 individuals or teams will advance to the final.

• Participating contestants must wear the WTF-Recognized Taekwondo uniform. Any contestant wearing unofficial dobok will not be permitted to compete.
• No commercial advertising on official uniforms.
• No commercial advertising on competitors uniforms bigger than 9cm x 2cm

• The use of drugs or any other doping offences by chemical substances is strictly prohibited.
• The ETU will carry out random medical doping tests among the participating athletes. Any athletes who refuse to undergo the tests or is proven to have commited a breach of the regulation shall be removed from the final standing, and shall be subject to diciplinary actions.

• The closing date for the organizing commitee to receive the entry is 12th October 2009. Entries received after the closing date will not be accepted.

• Each participating team should bring two national flags (90cm x 130cm) as well as a CD of its National Anthem.
• All contestants and officials participating in the 9th ETU European Taekwondo Poomsae Championships Portimão, Portugal will receive a diploma co-signed by the ETU President and the Chairman of the organizing commitee.
